Employees Opinion and Satisfaction Survey  - About the method

Definition: It is a process aimed at determining the level of employees’ satisfaction and getting to know their opinions on various aspects of company’s functioning.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Diagnostics: investigating company’s strong points and areas for development from a perspective of its employees
  • Strengthening identification with the company: inquiring an employee about his or her opinion concerning company’s internal situation - results in strengthening his or her identification with the company
  • Communication: survey results can be used to improve atmosphere and streamline company’s internal communication
  • Motivation: investigating to what extent people are satisfied with their work, if they want to stay with the company, what are the factors that make them unsatisfied and what might shape positive changes and increase employees’ commitment

METHOD:

  • Questionnaire tool – a questionnaire comprised of closed questions and alternatively open questions
  • Number of questions depends on a number of surveyed issues (optimally 60-80 closed questions and up to 10 open questions)
  • All of the company’s employees are invited to participate in the survey, what in result allows to make comparisons between isolated groups
  • The survey is anonymous – employees do not provide any data that could reveal their identity
  • Data is collected in a traditional manner (paper forms) or with use of the internet platform

ELEMENTS OF THE PROCESS:

  • Identification of key areas of the company’s functioning, about which the employees’ opinion is desired
  • Designing of a questionnaire
  • Information campaign aimed at arousing employees’ interest in the process and encouraging them to express their sincere, true opinions - More
  • Organization of distribution and collection of filled in questionnaires from employees in a way that ensures anonymity and confidentiality of data
  • Preparation of reports that present obtained results as well as their interpretation and recommendations of changes

  • Presentation of the obtained results to the employees on various levels of the organization and engaging as many as possible in planning and implementation of changes
